Vehicle Description
For sale in our Ft Luaderdale showroom is this gorgeous 1947 Ford
Super Deluxe Business Coupe. This matching numbers classic is
powered by a 239 CID Flathead V8 matched to the original 3-speed
manual transmission. It is a dream to drive this business coupe.
The Ford starts on the first key turn and the three on the tree
tranny shifts super nice through all gears. The bulletproof
Flathead 8 engine has plenty of power to move this piece of
American History. The Coupe drives great and it also looks very
good. The paint is in very nice driver condition on an unbelievable
all steel body. Everywhere I put my magnet; it sticks!!! You will
have a hard time to find any bondo areas. I couldnt find any. A
beautiful interior that makes a very clean appearance. Rumors say
that the traveling business people used the trunk also to take a
nap in. So; what do you need more? You are buying a car that drives
super nice; that looks great and you can even take a nap in the big
trunk. This car has it all. The only thing that is missing is a new
owner. A few modern upgrades were added to make cruising in the
Florida sunshine a bit easier including a 12 volt electrical
system, electric fuel pump, and electric fan. The chrome and
stainless trim beautifully accents the burgundy exterior which
blends nicely with the beige cloth interior. With looks and comfort
this is one easy Ford to cruise in and enjoy. Due to the War,
civilian production had halted on Fords from 1942 until July of
1945 when it picked back up until 1948. With not much change in the
styling of the Ford in the post-war model years, the 47 initially
shared a similar body style as the 1946 Ford line. Visual
differences included the removal of the red accents from the grill
and the two small lights located just above it. Ford began titling
1947s in February 1947. For the first few weeks, the 1947 model was
identical to the 1946. Ford then restyled the body slightly first
by moving the parking lights from above the grill to below each
headlight. Exterior moldings were changed from grooved to a smooth
design. A new hood ornament with a blue plastic insert was
installed. A new hubcap design became available in March. The
interior dash color was changed from red accent to gold. Options
include: cloth interior, radial white wall tire, and hub caps.
