1968 Ford Mustang Fastback black color, manual transmission,
with a 302 4V V8.
Built in Dearborn, MI on January 9, 1968. The car was finished in
Highland Green Metallic(R). The interior is finished in Saddle
Crinkle and Saddle Kiwi Vinyl (2F). The car was built with a 4
Speed Transmission mated to 3.00:1 Standard Rear Axle. The engine
block was cast on January 4, 1968 and is the original 302.
This is a cosmetically restored 1968 Ford Mustang Fastback. The
scope of the restoration was exterior paint, body, interior, and
mechanical. This was not a full restoration. The body shows well
and it's overall appearance in very good. Panel fitment is
excellent. The car is very straight and the lines are sharp. The
paint on the car is excellent. The car is a color change to Black
from Highland Green. The restorer did a very good job in both prep
and finish. The car has, as most mustangs, has had floor sections
replaced. The work performed was not for show quality, just
function. Overall the car has a very solid body and great paint.
The engine on the car runs well. The car is a J code 302, with a 4
speed top loader and the engine is the original to the car. The
engine compartment has some nice additions such as Cobra air
cleaner and valve covers. The block has been painted red.
Installation of header, aluminum intake, and modern ignition has
been made. The compartment is clean and well sorted. The car has a
set of Boyd Coddington alloy wheels. The interior has been lightly
customized to a two tone combination on the seat covers and door
panels. The interior is in very good condition overall. Carpets,
gauges, dash, headliner, and interior trim are all complete and in
good to very good condition. This overall is a great driver quality
Mustang Fastback that is an original J Code car, with it's original
engine, now finished in Black with quality paint on a very good
body that is in very good mechanical condition.
This particular vehicle, a 1968 Ford Mustang Fastback is a very
desirable Mustang. This example is a true J Code car. This vehicle
has been cosmetically restored to and maintains original engine and
supporting major mechanical components. The market on these cars is
very established and has been very strong over the last 10 years
due to a strong interest globally.
