This is a 1972 280 SE 4.5. It is a 4.5 liter V8 Gas engine. It’s got some giddy up.
We are the 2nd owners of the vehicle. We bought it from a little old lady at 93,000K miles back around 1985. I have the complete maintenance history, and here are the highlights.
At 155,971 miles, the original engine failed and I replaced it with a used Mercedes 4.5L engine that had been properly stored with approximately 55,000 miles on it. It’s an identical engine to the original.
At 187,434 miles, the front end was completely rebuilt.
At 188,000 miles, I had the body completely professionally restored. The interior is near perfect in original “Mercedes Leather” which is a high quality vinyl, which does not deteriorate like leather.
At 189,773 miles, I replaced the transmission.
The car currently has 191,689 miles and has only been driven several times a year the last few years.
