The 1958 Chevrolet station wagon lineup (there were five different
types available) were described in factory literature as having
"big new glamour, eager to do half-ton chores and have fun when
they're done." They were noted for the sweeping lines,
roof-recessed lift-gate for greater floor-to-ceiling load height
being dramatically lower and wider, graceful sloping pillars, plus
ease of travel.
Having received some mild custom touches, this custom one-stage
enamel green and white 1958 Brookwood wagon is stated to be in
excellent overall general condition; it is powered by a rebuilt
six-cylinder engine (reported with 3,000 miles) that is paired with
a Powerglide automatic transmission and the "standard rear
differential." The Chevy has a two-tone white and green interior, a
roof rack and original style power steering. The undercarriage is
reported as being partially cleaned and refinished and the spare is
on the original steel rim.
Among the updated items are front disc brakes with rear drums,
15-inch Cragar wheels, radial whitewall tires, green tinted windows
in the second row and quarter glass, electric fuel pump, fender
skirts (finished, not installed), Impala steering wheel, California
one-piece front bumper, custom seat and door panels, carpet in the
cargo area, shoulder harness front seatbelt, USB port in place of
the cigarette lighter, aftermarket stereo CD radio, four door
speakers, rear subwoofer, stereo amplifier, along with custom front
and rear foglights.
The body components are reported as having "fair to good" fit, the
stainless molding is original, the chromed elements are a mix of
original and replated and the rust has been repaired as needed over
the past 15 years. Whatever your next cargo may be, travel with the
Brookwood in style.
