Porsche introduced the 924 in 1976 as an entry-level replacement to
the 914. The car was co-developed with Volkswagen who planned to
add an affordable sports car to their model lineup. In the end
Volkswagen decided not to offer the car and Porsche purchased the
design rights. It marked the first liquid-cooled front engine
vehicle offered by Porsche. In 1985 Porsche introduced the 924S
which featured numerous improvements derived from the Porsche 944,
most notably the engine. The increased performance and comfort of
the 924S dramatically improved the cars overall appeal.
This beautiful 1987 Porsche 924S is presented in black with
"telephone dial" wheels. The car is powered by a 2.5-liter
four-cylinder engine which is paired to an automatic transmission.
The Oyster interior is completed with leather and cloth embossed
seats, a sport steering wheel and a sunroof. The interior features
a Blaupunkt Monterey radio, air conditioning and power windows. In
1987 Porsche produced 8,940 examples of the 924S.
