The Model: During the 1970's when most domestic car companies were
worried about MPG, Porsche was still concerned with MPH! This led
to the development of one of the most potent machines ever built
with the engine behind the driver and the road in front. Born out
of the 911 program, the 930 Turbo was the fastest way to get from
point-A to point-B and still be street legal. While it flew like a
rocket, you only needed a driver license, not an FAA issued pilot
license. With reported times of 0-to-60 in six seconds flat and top
speeds out of the box at 160 MPH, it delivered everything you could
want, except for somewhere that didn't have a speed limit of 55,
which was the law of the land. Each 930 Turbo engine was
hand-assembled and tested before being placed in the car. Then
"break-in" miles were applied at the factory to insure these cars
were driver ready upon delivery. Today, nearly every Porsche 930
fan hopes to one day find a coveted showroom poster where these
cars were promoted as being able to "Kills Bugs Fast!".

The Car: Finished in German Silver this car promotes its heritage
with the wrap-around decal set announcing to the world this is a
Turbo 930! One doesn't need to be shy when driving a Porsche.
Fitted with its original black leather seats this car is also
equipped with power sunroof, factory air-conditioning, and an
upgraded audio system. Up front are two fog lights mounted below
the bumper and high-pressure headlight washers and at the back of
the car a rear-window wiper plus an internally controlled
high-output rain light. The original blacked-out Fuchs wheels, 8"
to the front 9" to the rear set under the flared wells. Also
included with this car are the original books and documents
verifying this car's heritage including the factory issued Porsche
Certificate of Authenticity. One has to wonder if singer Elton John
was maybe thinking of piloting a Porsche when he released the song
"Rocket Man".
