1952 Mercedes 220 Sedan W187 4 Door Sedan 6 Cylinder 2.2 Liter 3
Speed Manual Mileage Showing: 70,749 Kilometers (43,864 Miles) This
is a very nice example of low production Mercedes Luxury Sedan of
the early 50 s. The current owners, old car lovers and hobbyist,
purchased this restored, and well kept Classic from California. The
body and the paint, as well as rebuilding the engine was done prior
to their purchase and she looks quite nice at the show and drive
level. This is not a high-end show car however, and even though
several years have passed since the body and paint were done, there
are no glaring defects in the paintwork. Although unfortunately,
very few miles were driven during their ownership because of health
issues, the decision was made to sell. A recent investment of close
to $7,000 in mechanical maintenance and repairs (with receipts) has
resulted in a smooth running, turn key Mercedes ready to enjoy.
Overall, the cosmetic presentation is very good and would certainly
be welcomed at the casual car shows. The production of the W187
Sedan from 1951 to 1953 was a mere 16,154 according to known
records and this one has a fairly low production number in the
series at #7350. The 2.2 liter 6 cylinder with an enhanced
horsepower (over its predecessor) rating of 80(!), was capable of
taking the 220 Sedan passengers to close to 90 miles per hour. As a
note for details of this example, the wood trim (not veneer) on the
interior is in fine condition, and even the outside (between the
front and rear doors) original turn indicators flip outward as they
should! If you are searching for an unusual collectible investment
in a comfortable Classic that you can enjoy with family and
