1939 was the first year for the Mercury brand with the company breaking into the automotive industry with one of the finest art deco designs of the period. The company originally assembled the Mercury line in Long Beach, California and is powered by a 239CI 95HP Ford V8 engine with a three speed transmission. The Mercury marque bridged the wide gap between Ford's V-8 Deluxe line and the exclusive Lincoln K-series cars. This car was originally purchased in Pennsylvania and remained in the same family for 65+ years when it was sold to a collector in Overland Park Kansas. We recently purchased the car and are only the third owners. This is a mostly original 1939 Mercury with new master cylinder, springs and shocks front and rear. Good oil pressure, great driver, very dependable fun car. Includes car cover and additional parts.
