for purchase. The Ford Thunderbird project was in direct response
to that of the Chevrolet Corvette, but not very similar. In fact,
the number of T-Birds sold the first 3 years of production was much
greater than the Corvette. This might have been the result of a
better marketing campaign by Ford. They were the first to market
the term "personal luxury car" vs "sports car". The original 2
seater personal luxury car reached its pinnacle in the final year
of production, 1957. The car received some subtle styling changes
up front along with pronounced tail fins on the rear of the car.
Fords Thunderbird for 1957 still remains one of the most
recognizable car on the planet.
This 1957 Ford Thunderbird is absolutely stunning! The Flame Red
exterior paint is in excellent condition and pairs together
extremely well with the White Colonial interior that is also in
wonderful condition. The owner of this Bird had purchased it from
the well-known Amos Minter back in 2000 that did the full
restoration on this beauty. Vehicle features a 312 cubic inch, 245
horsepower Thunderbird Special V8 engine and is paired to a 2 speed
automatic transmission. 3 tops will come along with this car, a
Colonial White porthole hard top, white convertible top and a
tonneau cover. Some of the best features on this vehicle will
follow; a full chrome engine dress up kit, original spare and jack,
working heater and defroster, power steering and power brakes that
have been rebuilt, working power windows, period correct dealer
under dash air conditioning, town and country radio, stainless
steel exhaust system, front and rear bumpers that have been
