This is an older build by an employee of the Ford Motor Company. He built it with safety and durability in mind. He utilized his skills and access to quality components to design and build a great car.
It began as a solid body. He built a 2×3 rectangular chassis and strengthened it with a full roll cage. He installed an a-arm front suspension and a three-link/coil-over rear suspension. This car is back-halved.
The engine is a built 460. He blue-printed and balanced it. The compression is now 13:1. It contains a polished steel crank, Eagle H-beam rods, TRW pistons, Melling oil pump, chrome moly rings, Clevite bearing and a hydraulic Comp Cam with 585 lift. The aluminum Heads and Intake are by Edelbrock.
The ignition is MSD 6AL with 2-step and Starter Saver. There is a fuel cell and twin batteries in the trunk.
The transmission is a race-built C-6 with ATI 3000 stall converter and a trans-brake. The Ford 9 inch rear end contains Strange 4:30 gears and mini-spool. The axles are 31 spline by Strange.
The ProStar wheels by Weld have almost new tires on them. The fronts are 26×4.5×15 and the rears are 31.5×14.0x15 Goodyear slicks.
The electrical system is very neat and tidy. The gauges, lights and switches are appropriate for a drag car.
The interior is spartan. The only seat is a race bucket. The door panels, floor and rear tubs are aluminum.
The front brakes are disc and the rears are drum. There is a vacuum booster and line lock.
The body is very nice, as is the paint. There is no sign of filler or repair. There are no rust bubbles. The paint shines nicely and is show worthy.
I have been told this car will run in the 9’s. For bracket racing, he would dial-in between 9.90 and 10.0. I have not run it, but will do so when the weather and schedule permits.
This is a lot of car for the money. It certainly couldn’t be built for less than twice the asking price.
