Vehicle Description
This is a one of one Yenko Nova. It started life as an SS396/375hp
(Yes... L-78!). The original owner was a friend of Don Yenko. This
car is a piece of automotive history. During the upgrade of this
car, Don Yenko bought the rights to Chevrolet's all aluminum ZL-1
engines that were factory under-rated at 460hp. They were too
expensive to put in any production vehicle or to mass produce so
all of them were specific to every car that received one. At the
hands of the worlds top engine builder, 'Grumpy Jenkins', the
engine for this Nova was custom-made, precisely blueprinted then
hand poured and assembled. In the end, and almost $11k later, the
447cid, all aluminum, Can-Am series big block was said to produce
well over 600hp! This was a personal endeavour of Don Yenko and
Grumpy Jenkins to make the fastest and toughest Chevrolet that you
could put on the street. So with all that horsepower, the car is
rocketed forward at the control of Muncie's 'Rockcrusher' M-22
4-speed trans. The rear is the original 12-bolt with a HD 4.30:1
gearset. The paint is less than 2 years old and the entire car was
professionally restored at that time. It has been owned by a
responsible adult and less than 25 miles have been put on the car
in the last decade. It is an original black on black, big block,
L78 Nova and has all the delivery info from 1969 to prove that the
car was originally sold at Yenko Chevrolet. When the car was
transformed, by Yenko, they were very meticulous about making sure
that all the documentation and work orders are signed by Don Yenko
himself and reflected all the correct identification to prove that
all the drivetrain is original to the car. There is so much more
about this car that makes it so incredibly special. If you are
seriously interested in purchasing the car and would like more
