The beloved Beetle convertible has endured the test of time and
millions of these have been produced over the past 60+ years.
Peoples Car, Love Bug, Herbie, Slug Bug, Type 1, and many other
names have been used to describe or refer to this iconic model
throughout the world. The VW Beetle has been a recognizable car no
matter where you are and what year the car is, it is always very
easy to notice.
In 1979 the VW ceased production of the car to the US market and to
celebrate the last year of this car, VW only produced the
convertible version for the US dealer network. The Beetle remained
true to its roots, but each year the car received some kind of
tweak or improvement and in 1979 this car gave the owner the best
it could offer.
This low mile, super solid, beetle is sure to please and is a must
have for any collector or enthusiast. Mechanically this slug bug is
very sound. We took it for a test drive and it handled as it
should. Some new parts were installed within the last year and
consist of master cylinder, fuel pump, alternator, battery,
exhaust, all rubber hoses(fuel and air) and pipes,tires with
whitewall stripes. With less than 25,000 miles this beetle stands
tall. The paint retains a beautiful shine and the chrome glistens.
Drop the top and head to the beach or drive on a long road trip,
either way this beetle is ready for you.
