1965 Mercedes-Benz 230SL Convertible/Roadster is shown proudly in Dark Green over parchment leathers. It all starts with the powerful 2.3 Liter 6 Cylinder power plant is the centerpiece of this Class. It offers a Four Speed Manual gearbox that supplies solid shifts. Rich materials, mahogany venere and parchment matching pile carpeting, although not OEM. Standard features include new front disc breaks with rear drum, leather interior, hard top with garage hoist, soft top, mahogany veneer trim and manual windows. Other standard and optional features included power steering and Mercedes wheel covers that match the exterior finish with exceptional beauty. Spare hubcaps come with. The car originally came from Sweden, so it has the original European styled headlamps and the odometer is calibrated in kilometres. The stainless steel exhaust system (TimeValve) makes a sexy burbling sound. This is not a concourse vehicle, but more aptly described as in good condition. Minor imperfections exist in the paintwork, and interior. The engine has never been touched. The Bosch fuel injection system works perfectly. There is zero body rust and the car is only driven a few hundred kilometres a year during the summer months. As the odometer turns over at 100,000 km, it is impossible to determine the accumulated mileage of the vehicle. Upgrades done about ten years ago cost around $23,000. Bumpers have been re-chromed. New windshield, radiator and tires, The non-original elements of the car are minor and were considered improvements (carpet, exhaust system). Hagerty Values the car a number 3 at US$56,300 +$4,500 for hardtop +10% for 4-spd = $66,880. Considering the car is located in southern Canada, a more difficult location for American buyers, I am willing to accept US$44,900.
