Offered here is a beautiful 1966 Ford Mustang 289 Convertible.
According to the owner’s manual, this car was purchased brand new
by Richard Tucker Jr. of Jeffersontown, Kentucky through a Ford
Dealer in Louisville. The second owner, David Potter of St. Paul,
Minnesota, purchased the car in 1988 and rebuilt the 289 V8 engine.
Since 1988, ALL receipts and records have been kept with the
car.
In 2006, our Grand Rapids, Michigan client purchased the car and
has always stored it in a garage. This Mustang remains all original
except for an aftermarket radio and an upgraded Fuel-Injection
system installed in 2015 for more reliable starting. The original
manifold and radio do come with the car.
The car is finished (repainted) in the original Vintage Burgundy
Metallic (Code X) over a Black Vinyl (Code 26) interior with a
white convertible soft top. All finishes remain in excellent
condition (see photos). Noteworthy features include a functioning
power convertible top, zip-out rear window, disc brakes, black
convertible boot, trumpet exhaust, and a Ford’s staple
Cruise-O-Matic automatic transmission. The numbers matching
289ci/200hp V8 power plant pulls this 1st Generation Mustang down
the road beautifully. It starts, runs, and drives just as well as
it looks.
Cars in this color combination are not easy to find. The rare color
combined with all ownership history and records dating back to
1988, makes this Mustang one of the best values in our current
inventory. Hagerty values a number 3 car, which this certainly
qualifies for, at $27k. Great deal, indeed. Call or e-mail if
interested. Thank you for looking.
