The Willys name has long been associated with military vehicles
because of their rugged design and proven reliability. This
reputation of quality transferred to the public with the
introduction of the Willys 1/2 ton pickup truck. Built for the
American workforce these pickup trucks were tough and efficient
with most owners enjoying over 30 miles per gallon from the peppy
4-cylinder engine. This gorgeous 1940 Willys Overland 1/2 ton
pickup has an all steel body that's been restored back to the
factory look by none other than Willys America in Cazadero, CA. The
body is rock solid with good fit of all the panels. At the time of
the restoration new bumpers were installed in addition to other new
trim. The glass looks to have been replaced as well as the seals.
The paint on this pick up is the original 1940 Regina Gray that was
done right with a deep, rich shine. No detail was overlooked as
seen in the correct Defender Blue steel wheels with twin pinstripes
and new-old-stock hubcaps mounted on Coker Classic radial tires. On
the fully restored interior there is a reupholstered bench seat and
what appears to be the correct steering column and wheel. Under the
hood you will see the engine bay is detailed nicely powered by the
4-cylinder Flat Head engine with a T-84 3-speed transmission. When
you look under this pickup it is every bit as clean as the top and
retains the stock front end as well as the stock rear end on all
new leaf springs. This truck is ready to take first place in the
next car show or just make your own show anywhere you go! Stock
