In collaboration with Disney, Ford built the Magic Skyway exhibit at the 1965 World’s Fair in New York. Certain Ford models were selected to be featured in the exhibit, some turntable displays and others were attached to a moving track.  Visitors would sit in the car of their choice and ride the Magic Skyway. The selected cars were delivered to a local Ford dealer where their drivetrains were removed and several large diameter holes were drilled into their undercarriage and radiator mounts to be used as attachment points to the track’s ride mechanism. After the World’s Fair ended, they were returned to the dealer, their drivetrains reinstalled and sold as used cars.

Her current owner is a diplomat and Vice President of the International Thunderbird Club (www.intl-thunderbirdclub.com).Margaret was acquired from a private collection in early 2013. Extensive restoration has been completed to make her a driver; although her original drivetrain is still installed and her engine bay in completely untouched.

Her production date of August 3, 1963, makes her a very early production 1964 Thunderbird.

She arrived at the AACA Museum (161 Museum Drive, Hershey, PA) in early September 2016 and is located on a turntable in the lobby. She has received much exposure in trade publications. Some are listed :
