1970 Dodge Challenger R/T ~factory 383 N code 4-speed car~
Disclaimer: The car now has a 318 and an automatic transmission. I was not responsible, so please don’t yell at me. I acquired the car like it sits. The car is a driver that has great potential to live up to its former glory, but I don’t have the 383 or the 4-speed.
EXTERIOR:
The body is straight and solid. The paint is an older driver quality paint that is presentable and all one color. The car has brand new Rallye wheels and new tires. Yes, it has the wrong hood, but the original Go-Wing is intact, so 1 out of 2 ain’t bad. The car isn’t perfect, but will make a great running driving car that you can improve at your own pace.
INTERIOR:
The interior is older, but still in good condition and features the Rallye gauge cluster. The upholstery and door panels are in good shape with no tears or rips. The carpet looks pretty fresh as well.
MECHANICAL:
The aforementioned 318 and automatic transmission are no track stars, but do their job without complaint. However, the clutch pedal is still present so going back to the 4-speed would be an easy swap. The car will fire right up and idle without any fuss. Manual drum brakes and manual steering work well on this car and don’t require as much input as you’d think.
