Vehicle Description
Vintage Autohaus is proud to present this 1956 Pontiac Star Chief
Convertible. This car has been through a professional restoration.
Altough the restoration is older the vehicle shows very well and is
a very solid car. The engine is the original 316.6 ci V-8 / 227 hp
with a correct 4 bbl. carburetor. The transmission is the correct
dual range Hydra-Matic 3 speed. The power train is in excellent
condition. The engine bay is detailed and shows great quality. All
of the chrome and the bright work has been refinished or replaced
including the bumpers, hood strips, hood ornament, rear fender
chrome, bezels and all emblems. The undercarriage is very solid
with original floors and rockers with no patches or repairs. The
dash trim and chrome is in great condition with no pitting. The
gauges are in working order. The interior is in excellent shape
with no tears. The seats are firm and comfortable with the padding
replaced. The cowl tag decodes as follows: The paint code DK
indicates the car was born Amethyst and Nimbus Grey. The trim code
289-1 is Black and White imitation leather. All was done in the
correct style and colors. The Amethyst and Nimbus Grey paint on
this straight rust free body is deep and smooth and shows extremely
nice. All the glass is in good condition and original. The vent
windows do show some delamination on the edges. All of the weather
stripping is new and seals tight. The car is equipped with power
steering, power brakes, and power top. The top is in new condition
and operates as it should. This is a very nice example of a mid
50's Pontiac Convertible with great curb appeal.
