I purchased this car new in 1973 at the dealership in Washington DC. The car had been driven by one of their employees until I bought it for $10,500. It is in excellent condition, painted 15 years ago. It has a second new convertable soft and hard top. This was the first year for this re-syled 4.5 litre 230 hp V-8 in the 107 series roadsters. This model is sought after by collectors and thought by many to be desirable because of the short chrome bumpers and lack of frills associated with similar SLs in the series produced through 1989. This model was only 350SL 1972-1973 even though it had a 4.5 liter engine. The car still shows very well for nearly 50 years of age with no evident rust through or collision damage.
