Conditioning, Locking Differential. Paperwork, DOT, Importation

throughout. It has lived an extremely pampered life, having been
cherished and well kept in a climate controlled facility as part of
a local private collection. It has a great history and comes
complete with the owners manual and maintenance books (with
stamps), tools, spare tire, air compressor and spare key. This
fantastic speedster is 1 of only 38 originally delivered to
Switzerland. The Speedster was built in 1989 only as the final
edition of the classic Carrera style before the introduction of the
964 platform. It featured a low slung windshield & cabriolet top
together with a fiberglass tonneau cover & the wide body of the
Turbo version making it a striking design that looks as great today
as when it was first delivered in 1989. This is a Blue-Chip
Collectible Porsche that is ready to be driven, shown, and admired.
This Speedster will most certainly be a fabulous addition to any
collection. Some cars are considered collectibles from the word go.
Porsche has sold many such collectible sports cars in its 60-plus
years of business. Considered option "M503" and based on the 214hp
3.2 Carrera Cabriolet, it debuted at the 1987 Frankfurt Motor Show.
This limited-production 911 Speedster, of which only 2,104 were
built in 1989, was one of these. Furthermore, this very special
Speedster was 1 of just 1,943 produced with the Turbo Wide-Body
Package (option code M491), and 1 of just 38 Turbo-Look versions
originally sent to Switzerland (this example was imported to USA in
2001). It not only celebrated the end of the first generation of
air-cooled 911 production, which dated back to 1963, but evoked the
legendary 1954-'57 356 Speedster in name and image--a sure-fire hit
with Porsche enthusiasts and automobile collectors alike. The
production 1989 Speedster wore a unique aluminum framed windshield
that was more than 3 inches lower and raked 5 degrees flatter than
that of the standard Cabriolet. One-piece wind-up side windows,
lacking the Cabriolet's fixed quarter panes, curved salaciously in
concert with the low-slung "temporary" convertible top, that, when
raised, the roof echoed that of the 356 Speedster, and made the 911
look deadly sinister. Special Speedster equipment also included the
evocative twin-hump fiberglass tonneau that covered the folded top
and precluded rear seats, and lowered bucket seats with supportive
sport seatbacks. Of the 2,104 Speedsters built, 1,941 featured the
"M491 Turbo Look" wide body, suspension and brake upgrade option,
and 819 Speedsters were sold in America. Because most were treated
as collectibles, the bulk have been driven very little to this
day--a shame, because the 3.2-liter Carrera-based Speedster is
considered among the best-sorted, best built, most durable
air-cooled 911s ever made. For more information on this outstanding
