This stunning Candy Apple Red 1968 GT fastback is a J-Code 302 V-8 car benefiting from a 3-year rotisserie restoration in 2007 with 74,500 original miles. It is a 4-owner car built in San Jose, California. The engine and C-4 transmission are original, and the body retains all original rust-free metal. The engine was rebuilt to factory specs in 1999. It was restored to its original Marti Report specifications other than Cobra valve covers, Edelbrock intake, and ceramic headers. It is also an actual GT model including heavy-duty suspension, stiffer front and rear springs, larger front and rear shock absorbers, larger-diameter front stabilizer, dual exhaust with chrome quad outlets, GT pop-open gas cap, GT fender badges, slotted and painted 14-inch styled steel wheels with GT hubcaps, turbo rings, and fog lamps.
The interior is nearly all new. Everything on the car works including all interior and exterior lights and gauges. The rear seat folds down and has a pass-through to the trunk. The C-4 transmission is the original, has been rebuilt, and shifts perfectly. Ceramic headers and proper exhaust make this V-8 sound awesome. There have only been 500 miles put on the car since the restoration. The underside is done correctly with red-oxide paint and all parts are marked with correct paint codes.
