3.6-liter, 360-hp turbo flat six-cylinder engine, Five-speed manual transmission. Rare & desirable Porsche with root wood accents. The Porsche Type 964 is the company's internal name for the Porsche 911 manufactured and sold between 1989 and 1994. Designed by Benjamin Dimson in 1986, it featured significant styling revisions over previous 911 models, most prominently the more integrated bumpers. Porsche introduced the Type 964 Turbo model in March, 1990, as the successor to the Type 930 911. Unfortunately, they didn't have the essential time needed to develop a turbocharged version of the 3.6-liter M64 engine, and chose to re-use the 3.3-liter engine from the 930. Porsche released the Type 964 Turbo 3.6 in January, 1993 for their 911 model, now featuring a turbocharged version of the 3.6-liter M64 engine and producing 360-hp. Among the updates for these cars were a tighter, limited-slip differential, bigger brakes with red calipers, a 20-mm lower ride height, speedlines, updated air conditioning, upgraded oil cooler, new camshafts and higher boost pressure.
This fully sorted numbers matching 3.6 Turbo has all maintenance up to date by Porsche specialist Import Autohaus, Huntington Station, NY. The Porsche is unmolested, all factory, being one of 7 made having a root wood dash, shift lever and brake handle and exterior and interior is show quality. Equipped with a sunroof, CD changer, a very rare rear-window washer, and original Speedline split-rim alloys. Porsche is accident free and it was originally an Arizona car, then traveled to California, then bought by the consignor and brought the Turbo recently to New York and was kept in my climate-controlled garage. Full services and mechanically flawless- it needs nothing. The radio was sent out to put in the current smartphone connection. It was owned by an elderly man who had a car collection in California and has literally been babied. Comes with original owner's manual, previous invoices, warranty cars, dealer directory, old advertisements, and Porsche COA.
