The story of the COPO (Central Office Production Order) Camaro�is well known among muscle car enthusiasts. The ability to order specially equipped high performance cars, unknown to the general public, was a loophole around the rules of GM. Making the average iron block 427 Camaro look an everyday occurrence is COPO option code 9560, or ZL1 as it's better known. With only 69 produced all together, ZL1's are the rarest, and the baddest Camaros ever built. They had an all-aluminum (block and heads) 427 cubic inch motor, and they were light, which made them fast. Really Fast. With only professional racers in mind, the cost of this optional drivetrain was an astronomical $4,160, more than the price of a base model V8 Camaro!
