1963 Plymouth Savoy Coupe
This one is a professionally built street and strip car. Powered by
a muscled up 440 big block channeled through a 727 Torqueflite
trans with a Hurst Pro Matic 2 shifter and delivered to the road
via the 3.90 Post Rear End, you can either curl or straighten your
hair with this one. The strip side of the conversion includes tide
frame rails, a stiffer suspension to handle the torque, there is no
frivolous radio in the dash, a full set of custom installed Stuart
Warner gauges and tach are added along with a fire extinguisher
mounted to the tunnel, there are leather form fitting articulating
leather Recaro front bucket seats that give you comfort and
support, while the back seat has been removed for weight loss.
There are some comfort creatures added for the street side of
things including power steering and brakes and a custom built cup
holder and console between the seats. The hood has twin scoops and
pins added for looks and function. The black paint is mirror smooth
and the interior is all new. Era correct polished Cragar SS wheels
with black wall radials finish off the look. While the performance
tuned dual exhaust shouts an early warning to anyone that might
think this is just a "pretty" car.
