This beautiful Chevrolet BelAir 2-door hardtop rested comfortably in a museum for over 27 years. Originally purchased in the state of Alabama (Bill of Sale included), it is believed that the mileage of 40,000 is actual. The current owner bought the car 3 years ago and performed a meticulous restoration. The goal was to discreetly upgrade the mechanics, but still maintain the original appeal of this classic BelAir. It was accomplished in spades. A portion of the all-original body received a repaint of Indian Ivory in 2015, but the Matador Red paint is over 30 years old and still looks great. The exterior has all of the options – spotlights, fender skirts, continental tire, bumper guards and even a sunshade. The 15" wheels sport Diamond-Back radials and original hubcaps. Most of the chrome is virtually flawless, including the 'arrows' above each headlight. The interior has been restored back to its original appearance. Seats, carpet, headliner, door cards, dash - all look just like 1956. Upgrades include Vintage Air/Heat, retro AM/FM/SiriusXM radio w/Bluetooth and tilt w/smaller 'factory' steering wheel. Under the hood, a 350 crate motor offers twice the horsepower of the original 265. An Edelbrock intake and Holley single-pumper now dispense fuel (new fuel tank) and an aluminum cross-flow radiator with dual electric fans controls cooling. Chevy rams-horn exhaust manifolds feed the new free-flow exhaust system. Backed by a GM 700R automatic and stock differential with 3.55:1 gears, this BelAir has no problem running in the fast lane. A carefully restored chassis incorporates a steering package with CPP 500 Series power steering box. The original 4-wheel drum brake system has been upgraded with a power-assisted dual master cylinder with all new components/lines. Each element of the suspension was also meticulously reconditioned including all new shocks, springs, front end, wheel bearings and sway bars. This amazing Tri-Five deserves your attention.
