I’m not sure I can adequately describe the level of excellence that went into the restoration of this El Camino. It’s probably one of the most thorough restos I have ever seen and the level of documentation is unbelievable! The owner has invested over $70,000. This is a special designer series COPO. The restoration was performed by the current owner from 1998-2002 and has been maintained in the same manner in which it was restored. It has four coats of base paint and four coats of clear. The power plant consists of a 305 S.H.O. four barrel Chevy engine (original); it sports a 9.8-1 compression ratio and was dyno tested after its rebuild. The engine has been retrofitted with a Crane Ultra-2 cam, World Products heads machined to 52 cc, timing gear drive, SMI Stage 2 electronic Quadrajet carburetor and 304SS HO Headers. Transmission is a Buick GNX 2004-R 4 speed O/D transmission. Rear end consists of a 4.10 posi-traction diff. Interior was completely restored and the A/C system (R12) was replaced 4 years ago. The front was lowered 2 inches and the rear lowered 3 inches. Suspension consists of Edelbrock gas shocks, Hotchkis chromoly A arms and Eibach low profile springs. The list of upgrades is endless and is documented in a 3 inch binder. The owner has the original window sticker. This El Camino has a garage fill of first place trophy wins from local and regional car shows. Call Cville Classic Cars at 434-293-5820 for details.
