Vehicle Description
1977 Rolls Royce Silver Shadow II
Rolls Royce has always had a reputation for superior engineering
quality and created a luxury car that would stand the test of time.
This British car manufacturing company put out a high quality
product and was even responsible for setting land and air speed
records back in the day. For many years in the automobile world,
Rolls Royce was primarily building chassis with the bodies being
left to specialist coach builders. The Silver Shadow however was
one of the first totally Rolls Royce built cars and proved to be
one of the most popular models they ever created. This Silver
Shadow Saloon is a nice original car that has a fully documented
history. It even comes with the original check lists in the
construction and test records. The car was built in the Crewe, UK
factory and from there was purchased in Zurich, Switzerland by a
USA Diplomat. The original owner then relocated the car to New York
where it was purchased by a 2nd owner who took the car to
California and then Hawaii. There it was then used as part of a
limo service. The current owner purchased the car 2.5 years ago and
had it brought back to Texas. It is a nice running car that has
been kept mostly original other than a few restored pieces here and
there. It is coated in a nice White paint that looks perfect with
the Tan vinyl top. All of the chrome and stainless is in good shape
and all in place. One of the more unique features of the car is the
power sunroof which was a rare factory option on these cars that
you don't see very often. The original style wheels/hubcaps are
found under all four corners and wrapped with tires that have
plenty of life left.
Powering the car is the original 6.75L V8 that starts up smoothly
and runs well. This is paired with a GM sourced Turbo Hydramatic
400 automatic transmission which is the original set up. One of the
more innovative features on the car is the high pressure hydraulic
system that provides dual circuit braking and a rear hydraulic
self-leveling suspension which helped to provide a very smooth
ride. In 1977 these cars became the Silver Shadow II and one of the
major changes included improved handling and rack and pinion
steering.
The interior is just as luxurious as you would expect with White
upholstery with woodgrain accents throughout. The upholstery is
showing minor signs of wear in spots but there is no rips, tears,
or major damage. The front bucket seats are very comfortable and
feature fold down arm rests. They sit to each side of the original
center console which provides extra storage space. Being a luxury
car the car is packed with all the power options you would expect
including power windows and locks. The dash is all original with
all of the factory knobs, gauges, switches, etc. The car also
features heat/AC which is working but will need some tune-up in the
near future. The carpeted trunk of the car provides plenty of
storage space and houses the battery.
This classic Rolls could be yours for $24,000.00!
