Vehicle Description
Look through our inventory and you will see a lot of Jeeps, but
this 1982 CJ-7 Renegade is one of the best we've ever featured.
With a timeless burgundy paint job, it looks amazing, and thanks to
a stout 350 cubic inch V8, it has performance that'll definitely
deliver the shock and awe.
The bottom line is that someone took a really nice original Jeep
and gave it a once-over to make it the ultimate off-roader. No AMC
product ever fit together this well or had paint that was this deep
and glossy, and thanks to a lifetime in the Nevada desert and down
south, rust is obviously a non-issue. The burgundy paint is
timeless, not dated like a lot of these 4x4s, and there's enough
metal flake in the finish to really make it glow in the sunlight.
Proper Renegade decals and stripes were installed, along with new
rubber fender flares, a chrome grille surround, new lenses, and, of
course, those cool asymmetrical side mirrors that only look right
on a Jeep. There's also a custom set of bumpers with fog lights and
a winch up front, a pair of tubular steps, and an oversized spare
tire mount out back. This is Jeep done right!
The interior also received a major makeover, complete with fresh
tan seat covers on the high-back bucket seats, a functional center
console with a CD player inside, and a new dash pad. The floor is
covered in tan carpets, which really make it feel upscale, not
basic. All the gauges are new, framed by a brushed aluminum
instrument panel and controls with reproduction knobs. The plain
3-spoke steering wheel is just the way it was when this Jeep was
brand new and today wears a grippy Jeep wrap that's easy to remove
if it's not your thing. The cool B&M shifter manages a
heavy-duty GM TH400 3-speed automatic transmission, with the
smaller lever next to it controlling the 2-speed transfer case that
gives the CJ its insane off-road abilities. And yes, don't worry, a
brand new Bestop convertible top and doors are included, so you
don't need to worry about the weather spoiling your fun.
Most of these had inline-sixes, but during the build, this one
received a stout 350 cubic inch Chevy V8 from a mid-90s Silverado
that makes performance entertaining to say the least. All the
mechanicals are rugged, reliable, proven components and it was all
rebuilt so it's ready to rock and roll on the highway or in the
hills. Upgrades include an Edelbrock 4-barrel carburetor, center
bolt heads, and an upgraded cam inside, as well as long-tube
headers with a dual exhaust system. Everywhere you look there's
evidence of recent maintenance and thoughtful upgrades, including
anice lift kit, power steering and front disc brakes, and a set of
heavy-duty off-road shocks. Shiny American Racing 15-inch aluminum
wheels with giant 35x12.50-15 off-road radials complete the
go-anywhere look.
In essence, this Jeep is just about as good as they get, with great
cosmetics and a very strong-running, upgraded powertrain. Enjoy the
power and the abilities that only come with a Jeep. Call today!
