Vehicle Description
1977 Rolls Royce Silver Wraith II
When it comes to luxury vehicles there is no denying that Rolls
Royce sits at the top of the list. Even back in 1977, these cars
came from the factory with all of the most innovative and top of
the line components available. The curved front fenders, dual
double headlights and large front grill command respect. This look
would prove to be iconic for cars bearing the double R emblem as
they are still being produced today with the same sort of design.
In fact, they are arguably some of the only cars that still use the
style of grill and hood ornament you would find back in the 20s and
30s.
This 1977 Rolls Royce Silver Wraith II is the long wheel base model
of which only 2,175 were made. This low production number makes
these cars fairly desirable compared to the shorter wheel base
counterparts. That being said a Rolls collection just wouldn't be
complete without it. This classic is painted in a soft Yellow and
is accented with all of the original style chrome and stainless
trim. The car has not undergone a complete frame off restoration
but has been cosmetically and mechanically restored to the extent
that it is still a nice show car and a very solid driver. All of
the exterior electrical is cleanly mounted in place and all of it
is working properly. The glass is in good condition and has a mild
tint in place. Original style wheels and hubcaps sit under each
corner of the car and are wrapped with thin white wall tires.
Powering the car is a 6.75L V8 that runs well. The motor was
replaced but is the correct style engine for the car. The entire
drivetrain was gone through by a certified Rolls Royce mechanic who
fully serviced and inspected it down to items like the hydraulics,
brakes, accumulators, brake hoses, calipers, etc. The car is rear
wheel drive and utilizes a 3 speed automatic transmission. It is
mechanically very sound and is a very smooth driving car. Sitting
in it you would be amazed that this type of car was being made in
1977.
The interior is all leather and done in a dark chocolate color.
Bucket seats are found up front with a bench seat in rear. All of
the original style components are found throughout and everything
works. The new air conditioning system blows cold and operates as
it should. A new stereo system was also added and utilizes a power
antenna which functions properly. Burled walnut is found on the
dash and really add to the sense of luxury and class this car puts
off. The wood is found in the correct places throughout the
interior and is all in overall good condition, but could use some
slight attention.
If you have always wanted a Rolls Royce but find the new ones a
little out of your price range then here is your opportunity. It
would make for a great driver and commands just as much attention
today as it did when it was brand new.
