1977 GMC K5 Jimmy Comprehensive restoration by previous owner New PPG blue/white base/clear coat 350 CID V-8 engine Three-speed automatic transmission Power steering and power brakes with front discs Updated interior with new gray-and-blue upholstery and blue carpet New side chrome and trim Upgraded Rancho suspension lift kit New General Grabber AT2 tires on six-lug, eight-vent alloy wheels New dual-exhaust system with turbo mufflers Seeking a 1970s Chevy Blazer with some differentiation, why not try its twin? MotoeXotica Classic Cars is extremely proud to offer this nicely restored 1977 GMC K5 Jimmy full-size, four-wheel drive SUV that hails from the desert state of Arizona. This particular example was assembled in Flint, Michigan and is equipped with a understood 350 CID V-8 engine under the hood now, mated to a three-speed automatic transmission and a dual exhaust. Its new PPG blue/white base/clear coat paint is in excellent condition, as is the new side chrome and trim. The truck's glass sections are in similar shape, as are the truck's lights, clear and crack-free. The body panels are all straight, the truck rolls on new General Grabber AT2 tires mounted on six-lug, eight-vent alloy wheels and the body is mounted on an upgraded Rancho suspension lift kit. Beneath is a new dual-exhaust system with turbo mufflers. The truck's bumpers and cargo bay are in great shape, too. The Jimmy has the following driver assist features, air conditioning, (missing compressor),power steering and power brakes with front discs. Inside, the new blue vinyl and gray cloth front buckets and rear bench seats are in excellent condition. The new gray carpet is in good shape and the gray and white headline is in great condition. The instrument panel is in great overall shape with some patina. The wipers and fuel gauge are inoperable. There's an aftermarket, small diameter, three-spoke steering wheel. The door panels are in very good shape. The mirrors, center console, shift lever and transfer case lever are in corresponding good condition. Finishing off the interior is a Dual XR 4115 MP3 and digital media receiver. In 1970,GMCintroduced its own model of the Blazer, called theJimmy. They were based on the short-wheelbase (106 inches) trucks and available with either rear-wheel orfour-wheel drive. The "Jimmy" name was chosen to reflect theGMmy sound in a similar manner in howJeepwas a pronunciation of GP in the competing market. The K5 Blazer and Jimmy had "full convertible" removable tops until 1975. In 1976, GM introduced a half-cab design that was less leak-prone and slightly safer in a rollover accident. These half-cabs are convertibles starting a few inches behind the driver/passenger doors all the way back to the tailgate. Althoughrear-wheel driveBlazers were manufactured until 1982, the majority sold werefour-wheel drive. Until 1975, the K5 had a removable convertible top. In 1976, a half-cab design was introduced and used until 1991. The K5 Blazer was available with 350 CID small block V-8. Between 1973 and 1980, Blazers used the gear-driven part-time NP-205 transfer case (mostly mated to the SM465 manual transmission and some TH350s) or the chain-driven full-time NP-203 transfer case (mated to the TH350 automatic) and DANA-44 front/12-bolt rear axle combination through 1980. The second-generation K5 models incorporated the rear hatch glass and tailgate into a single unit, which allowed the glass panel to retract inside of the tailgate by use of a manual crank mounted on the tailgate or an electric motor activated by a key-operated switch on the tailgate and a dash-mounted switch. A feature of the K5 tailgate was the safety switch connected to the electric motor, which prevented the rear window from being raised if the tailgate was unlatched. Competition to this Jimmy included Chevrolet's K5 Blazer, Ford's Bronco, Dodge's Ramcharger, International-Harvester's Scout II and Jeep's CJ series. This car is currently located at our facility in St. Louis, Missouri. Current mileage on the odometer shows 96,056 miles. It is sold as is, where is, on a clean and clear Arizona mileage exempt title. GET OUT AND DRIVE!!!
