For Sale: 1969 Mercedes 280 SL RHD in Maldon, Essex,
1969 Mercedes Benz 280 SL RHD
The Mercedes Benz 280 SL is a two seat roadster / coupe and the
last variant of the very successful W113 platform that was
introduced as the 230 SL at the 1963 Geneva Motor show. The 280 SL
is stylistically very similar to the preceding 230 and 250 SL
models but benefits from a larger 2.8 Litre engine, which, to many,
makes it the best model to drive.
The example offered here is a delightful UK-delivered automatic car
which was first registered in August of 1969. It comes with factory
hard and soft tops, including wind deflector, and a correct period
Becker radio. With little use since the completion of a three year
bare-metal professional restoration the car presents wonderfully in
its Pimento Red Metallic paint and Black leather interior and
retains full matching numbers. The car is accompanied by a good
history file including photographs and invoices relating to its
restoration and also includes old tax discs, a user manual and
other documentation. With a famous previous owner this charming
280 Pagoda provides a wonderful opportunity to acquire one of
these ever popular 1960s sports cars with an excellent
provenance. Please contact us for further details.
