The 1970 Boss 302 is not your average Mustang. Introduced by Ford as the answer to the Z/28, the Boss was an immediate contender in the muscle car wars of the late 1960s and the Trans-Am series it was built to compete in. Production in 1970 reached 7,014 units; however, this Boss 302 is extremely unique with the option content as delivered from the Ford. The Mustang features the optional Shaker hood scoop, rear glass sport slats, rear deck spoiler, Stereosonic tape system and sport deck rear seat, making this a one-of-one 1970 Boss 302 Mustang. Additional options on the Boss includes 4-speed wide-ratio manual transmission, Traction-Lok differential, power front disc brakes, rear spoiler, color-keyed racing mirrors, AM radio and décor group, just to name a few. This factory-born Calypso Coral (one of 291) version over black vinyl interior was manufactured on April 30, 1970, and sold new in Fort Wayne, IN, to a very happy new owner. Built with unshakable performance, the Boss drives simply, like no other street car wearing the Ford emblems. With its unmistakable matte black paint applied to the hood, rear deck and around the headlights, the Boss Mustang is "all-business." The engine in the Mustang is the race-proven 302 Ford used to compete and win races in the Trans-Am Series. With a rated output of 290hp, the Boss Mustang quickly established itself as a force to be reckoned with.
