This truck is a 1933 Chevrolet Master 1 1/2 Ton Stake-Bed. It has been in the family since 1944 when my father-in-law bought it from a neighbor farmer who purchased it new in 1933. It is equipped with a 206.3 CU.IN. 6 cylinder engine and a 4 speed manual transmission. It has mechanical brakes and a power take off that operates a dump system which my father-in-law added on to facilitate hauling and dumping fertilizer on his farm. The trucks primary use was a farm vehicle used to haul fruits and vegetables to the market and hauling various supplies from the local nursery to his farm. Each year at Halloween he would load the truck with hay and take the neighborhood children on hay rides. In 1991 he decided to retire the old truck and asked me if I wanted it. I had it shipped to Glendale AZ from Bolton CT thinking it would be a great restoration project. The restoration took me 4 years and was completed in 1994 just as it appears today. The restoration included a complete disassembly of the truck. The sheet metal panels doors and the top were completely removed from the cab exposing the wooden skeletal frame. All new oak was milled to original specifications and fabricated to replace the deteriorated original frame work. The drivetrain was left in tact with the exception of a few seals and gaskets. All brake shoes were relined as well as the clutch disc. The pressure plate was rebuilt as well. All new stainless steel rollers wee machined for the dump mechanism. The gauges were sent out tested repaired and reinstalled. All the bed wood was replaced with 2 X 6 oak the bed stakes with pine. A complete new wiring harness was installed. All new tires and tubes were purchased from Coker Tire. The interior was completely redone original as was the vinyl top. All glass was replaced as well. The radiator core was replaced in 2016.The odometer reads 79.3 as it was reset when it was tested. The mileage was reading 62000 when I got the truck. In its first and only show it took first place in its class.
