We're all very familiar with Shelby's contributions to the
automotive world, especially regarding the legendary Mustang.
Shel's pony cars have always been great to look at and even better
to drive, giving examples like this tailored GT350 virtually
universal appeal. 1 of only 3 2011-2014 GT350 convertibles ordered
with Shelby's wide body kit, and the only 2013 GT350 convertible so
equipped, this Ford is a fairly rare piece any way you slice it.
More impressive numbers live under the hood, where a supercharged
Coyote V8 makes a killer 624 horsepower. And the car's most
impressive stats come via history, with a mere 14,174 miles logged

BODYWORK/TRIM
Dressing a vivid layer of Grabber Blue 2-stage in sporty Shelby
call-outs and tight black cloth, this spotless Mustang has seen
meticulous care since new. As with all 350 of this era's Shelby
GT350s, the car's upgrades were performed by Shelby Automobiles of
Las Vegas, Nevada. Like most of our low-mileage, garage-fresh
pieces, its body presents as new in every conceivable way. That
body's sinuous panels are straight, solid and, per CARFAX, have no
history of accidents or damage of any kind. And a close look down
the car's buff fuselage reveals world-class finishing that's far
nicer than any piecemeal third party build.
Like most Shelby bolt-ons, the firm's wide body kit is meant to
turn Ford's definition of good into the enthusiast's definition of
great. At the front of this mean mare, a patent GTS valance hangs a
small splitter beneath HID headlights and mesh, GT350-branded
grilles. At the top of those grilles, an aggressive hood centers a
functional scoop in front of heated mirrors that feature trick
puddle lamps and chip-free glass that's branded with Shelby-themed
decals. At the sides of that hood, 3-inch widened fenders hang
traditional "POWERED BY FORD" emblems above remodeled, color-keyed
rockers. At the back of those rockers, 6-inch widened quarters host
a Shelby billet fuel filler. And at the back of the car, a
Shelby-branded valance founds sequential taillights between a small
antenna, bold trunk lettering, an aggressive GT500 spoiler and a
streamlined diffuser.
ENGINE
Created as a turnkey package for enthusiasts who want a reliably
engineered Mustang that unlocks the full potential of Ford's
legendary Coyote V8, this top-of-the-line GT350 utilizes a Ford
Racing whipple supercharger to crank out an astonishing 624
horsepower! Front-and-center, the car's painted blower makes good
use of a Ford Racing cold air induction system, which marries clean
aesthetics with excellent efficiency. At the sides of the engine,
dynamic Shelby coil covers join an array of Shelby caps and fluid
reservoirs to dress things up a bit. As with all Shelby
specialties, this Mustang proudly displays a small Shelby American
badge that verifies its authenticity. Aesthetically, the spotless
mill features a typical OEM-level appearance that displays hardly
any signs of usage. And when you twist the eager engine's key, you
become the lead composer of a veritable orchestra of sinister
whines and octane-fueled roars!
DRIVETRAIN/SUSPENSION
As most performance car fans already know, this Mustang's
Shelby-tuned chassis is nothing short of excellent. And with a few
optional bolt-ons, it sticks to the corners like the high-speed
luge winner at the 2014 Winter Olympics. The firm's upgrades began
with a Shelby/Ford Racing suspension that straightens the curves,
progressed to Shelby/Wilwood brakes that scrub big speed, and ended
with forged Shelby alloys that keep power to the ground. Behind the
smooth engine, a slick-shifting Getrag 6-speed sends power to big,
3.73 gears and a Ford limited-slip differential. At the corners of
the car, the aforementioned Wilwoods, which happen to be
red-detailed, 6-piston units, squeeze giant drilled and slotted
rotors behind standard Shelby brake ducts. Turns come courtesy of
Ford's super-efficient power-assisted steering. Exhaust flows
through large-diameter pipes to throaty Borla mufflers and oval
Shelby tips. Naturally, Ford's standard ABS and AdvanceTrac
traction control systems are present and accounted for. And all
this first class speed and agility rides on the aforementioned
Shelby alloys, which spin 275/35ZR20 Michelin Pilot Super Sports in
front of 345/30ZR20 Michelin Pilot Super Sports.
INTERIOR
Inside this 'stang, heated, Shelby-branded seats, which feature
6-way power adjustment for the car's driver, ride opposite a
tilting, leather-wrapped steering wheel that's equipped with Cruise
Control and redundant audio buttons. The dash is a familiar Mustang
layout, which hangs satin-trimmed telemetry beneath integrated
Shelby A-pillar gauges. Below those vitals, a crisp Shaker stereo
combines SYNC infotainment with standard navigation. Below those
electronics, a small Shelby plaque leads an impressive console
that's detailed with a dressed shifter. Beneath that console, rich
carpet floats Shelby-branded floor mats between metal foot pedals
and lighted sills. Above those sills, monochromatic door panels
hang controls for power windows, power door locks and power mirrors
beneath a Shelby convertible light bar. And naturally, all the
luxuries you'd expect in a modern Ford are ready and waiting
including: air conditioning, anti-theft, MyKey, SOS post-crash
alert and Remote Keyless Entry.
