Vehicle Description
This is the result of a 12-month frame-off, nut-and-bolt restoration that has been customized into a much more powerful truck than the original design. Significantly more driver-friendly, it retains the grit and stamina of the original Dodge. The power comes from a totally rebuilt Cummins 4BT, 3.9-liter turbo diesel with Spectre air flow induction and air-to-water aftercooler, set up for 200hp and mated to a new synchronized T19 Borg Warner 4-speed manual transmission. To make the Power Wagon more driver-responsive, a Hydratech hydraulic brake booster was installed to power the huge 13" front disc brakes and to run the new power steering. Additional upgrades included a rebuilt and re-cored radiator to keep things cool, the installation of New Vintage USA gauges, and conversion to a 12-volt electrical system that involved re-wiring the truck with an American Auto wire package. All-new glass, chrome, handles, hinges and stainless-steel fasteners were used in the restoration. The Power Wagon also retains the 2-speed transfer case, 7,500-lb original PTO winch with 150' of new 7/16" cable. The interior was upgraded with a two-tone bench seat that matches the exterior color scheme and features modern switches, chrome gauge trims, rubberized flooring, electric wiper, Ididit chrome tilt column and modern steering wheel. To transfer the awesome power to the ground, new 12" non-beadlock rims were installed with 35" BFGoodrich Radial Mud Terrain tires. The custom solid oak bed was finished to a high luster. The exterior black with white pearl and dark blue paint scheme exudes the aggressive no-nonsense appearance of this classic 4-wheel-drive power wagon.
