The Monte Carlo is a two-door coupe which was produced by Chevrolet through six generations from 1970-2007. It was marketed as a personal-luxury coupe through most of its history, with the last model version being classified as a full-sized couple. Through its many design changes, it also endured a variety of mechanical, engine and safety advances.
These cars have started to become very sought after and collectible. "The 1988 model year marked the end of an era." After producing the Monte Carlo for approximately 3 months, Chevrolet decided to cancel the Monte Carlo Super Sport model. On Friday, December 11, 1987, the last fourth-generation, Monte Carlo rolled off the production line at the Pontiac, Michigan plant.

This SS has maintained its Black with Red stripes and lettering extremely well and remains in tremendous shape. The interior is in Gray cloth with no apparent rips, tears, or holes in the seats. There was an aftermarket AM/FM and cd player installed along with a trunk mounted subwoofer as well as 2-amplifiers that will give you plenty of sound with the combined 1000 watts of power! The power locks and windows still function with ease and as well as the cool air and hot heat makes this an extremely comfortable ride. The engine in the SS is the 5.0L 305ci L69 Chevrolet small block V8, that really does the SS badge some justice, along with the 4-speed automatic transmission delivers all the power to the like new El Dorado GT Radials on this Monte. This is a car that has held the test of time and looks and runs just as it did nearly 30 years ago!
