This 1968 Pontiac GTO convertible is an original numbers matching example from Arizona. Equipped with the 400 cu. in. 350-hp V-8, Hurst-shifted 4-speed transmission, and 3.55:1 Saf-T-Track rear axle. It also has factory power steering and power disc brakes. Other options include hidden headlights, console, buckets, Rally II wheels, and Rally gauges. The car has the original interior and the seats were reconditioned with new springs and foam and carefully reassembled to preserve the original coverings.
The convertible top, pumps, and motor have been replaced with OEM parts. It is very rare to find such a heavily equipped 4-Speed convertible in such good condition. In addition, only 3116 went through production and there aren't many still around. This GTO has been fully documented by Pontiac Historical Services (PHS). The engine, transmission, and clutch were professionally rebuilt and have less than 3,800 miles on them. The new radiator by Cactus Radiators keeps it running cool. The whole underneath was updated as well. New dual exhaust by Gardner, new springs, shocks, bushings, cross bar, etc., break shields were even sandblasted down to bare metal and repainted. This is a nice restoration and it has been kept stock except for the updated stereo. The original AM/FM radio stopped working but will come with the car. Voted Car of the Year in 1968, this is a great muscle car that can be purchased with confidence. The parts and services receipts, owner's manual, convertible top manual, original keys, PHS and AM/FM radio will come with the car as well.
