Whether you're looking to add a classic 280SL "Pagoda" to your
collection or you're a first time buyer seeking a great collector
car, here is one that merits your consideration. These are not only
great driving, high quality automobiles but are proving to be good
investments as well. As car enthusiasts ourselves, we say buy for
the fun but we know it doesn't hurt that a car has shown good value
appreciation over time as these have. Finished in a very attractive
exterior/interior color combination, this 280 is an older
restoration that is still holding up very well. That means close
inspection may reveal a few minor paint blemishes but it also means
the restoration was quality work. When shortcuts are taken, paint
and body problems have a way of reappearing after two or three
years (if not sooner) and that's not the case here. Consistent with
the quality work, this car's body has great panel gaps, no rust
issues, and the overall paint appearance belies the fact that it
was done some years back. The interior was done to a high standard
and the leather seats and carpets exhibit virtually no wear. The
dash wood is excellent as well. While it has an older aftermarket
stereo system installed, that is easily removed if one wants to
return to a period Becker radio. The soft top is in excellent
condition and of the correct material. It also has its hard top
although it is not in the body color and will need paint to match.
Mechanically, it's in great shape too. The engine has been rebuilt,
holds the proper oil pressure, doesn't smoke and runs in the
correct temperature range. The transmission works as it should and
with a rebuilt suspension and brakes, you can be confident it
drives as well as it looks. Please call/text Mike Buchanan at
