Vehicle Description
1940 Mercury Custom Convertible
Old school style with a ton of updates!
This car is straight out of the 50's and put together just like it
would have been built by the Fonz! It is powered by a late flat
block 8 cylinder coupled to a 1941 Ford transmission with a stock
rear-end. The engine is fitted with a Mercury crank, new Eldelbrock
finned heads, and a a two carb manifold. It has a new mono front
spring with all fenders and running boards seamed, welded and
filled. The rear-end has been fitted with a stabilizer and air
bags, new wheel cylinders and brake shoes with the drums just
turned.
The exterior is finished in a dark green paint with light green
flames and it comes with a removable fiberglass hardtop (needs
finishing to make it a Carson style top). It has bubble skirts,
dummy spot lights, rounded deck lid corners, frenched
headlights/antenna and quad '59 Cadillac tail lights. The interior
is done out with a walnut dash, electric wiper switch and tuck and
roll bench front with a '65 Thunderbird wrap around rear seat. This
car turns heads wherever it goes and is truly a one-of-a-kind! It
runs and drives great along with that awesome street rod sound.
