1968 Oldsmobile Ninety-Eight Convertible
What a beautiful example of a true 60s Road Hog. At nearly 20ft long, this classic can be seen from just about anywhere on the road. This big cruiser commands attention and gets it!
We’d like to tell you more about this beautiful classic starting with its massive power plant. A 455ci Rocket V8 putting out 365hp from its 4barrel carburetor. She starts immediately, idles steady and shifts smoothly. Press the pedal and she responds immediately with no hesitation at all. Driving down the road is extremely quiet with no unwanted noises. Steering is straight with no pull at all. She is an absolute pleasure to drive in every respect. Power brakes stop this big cruiser with ease. The engine bay is nicely detailed. There are no fluid leaks at all. Mileage reads 76000 which we believe to be accurate.
The 100% rust free body is long and low. The factory Jade Green color shines beautifully as does all of its chrome and trim. The paint was refinished but all chrome and trim is original. There are a few very small road marks but for the most part, they are barely visible except upon close inspection. The power top is spotless and works perfectly up & down. It falls into place easily and locks down with ease. The rear window is glass, not plastic. There are two (2) boots with the car. One is white (shown on car) and the second is the green body color (shown in photo off the car). We are not sure which came with the car but both will fit easily when the leather is warm. Temp in NY when these photos were taken was a cold 46degrees and we were unable to stretch the boots in order to fit properly.
The interior is 100% original and in excellent condition. There are no dash cracks, no seat tares or cracks. The dash is very clean and all gauges are clear. Best of all, this car is fully loaded like no other and every single thing works except the clock. That includes all gauges and features as follows: power steering, power brakes, air conditioning (ice cold), tilt & telescopic steering wheel, AM-FM radio, power antenna with 8-track tape player, 8-way power seats, power convertible top, power windows including power vent windows, speed alert and more. LOADED!
American Classic white wall radials are brand new as are the brakes. Recent service records include: oil lube & filter, flush & change coolant, new brakes, rebuilt original carburetor, new headlamps, new starter, new front and rear shocks, new ignition coil, new alternator, AC system serviced.
