This beautiful example of a 1979 Chevrolet Corvette for sale in our Tampa Showroom. This Classic Corvette has been tastefully modified and looks mean! Starting with the late 60’s style big block hood, this car looks like it means business! Tinted windows, aluminum alloy wheels wrapped in radial tires. This is a head turner for sure. Inside you get red bucket seats, a Pioneer AM/FM/CD player and a nice Corvette 3 spoke steering wheel. Take the T-tops off and ride in style with this beauty. Not only does it look the part, but under the hood is a 383CID V8 engine with Edelbrock 750 CFM Electric choke, copper gasket for headers , headers with wrap, new flywheel SBC 400 168 tooth, new heavy duty clutch, new motor and transmission mounts, new plugs and 10.5 mm wires , new fan clutch and fuel pump and filter, New aluminum 2 Core High volume radiator, new high flow water pump, new chrome air cleaner, and HEI distributor finish it off nicely. In 1979 the Corvette went through some major changes including the crossed-flag emblems on the nose and fuel door revert to the those seen on the '77 model. Three popular features introduced on the '78 pace car replicas made it into this year’s production; The new bucket seats, the front and rear spoiler package, and the glass roof panels. The new lightweight “high back” seats were made standard equipment. The new seats had better side bolster, provided easier access to the rear storage area, and the seat pair resulted in a weight reduction of about 24 pounds. The bolt-on front and rear spoilers were offered as an option and nearly 7,000 cars were ordered so equipped. Functionally, the spoilers decreased drag by about 15% and increased fuel economy by about a half-mile per gallon. A bigger hit were the glass mirror-tint roof panels, now a regular option, with nearly 15,000 cars so fitted despite their costing $365. All T-tops were now wired into the standard anti-theft alarm system. Options on this Vette include A/C, AM/FM/CD player, power steering, power brakes, tilt wheel, power locks, power windows, aluminum alloy wheels, radial tires, leather interior, and seat belts.
