Vehicle Description
We are pleased to present this 1966 International Scout 800 4x4 for purchase. International Harvester developed the Scout as a precursor of more sophisticated SUV's to come. The only other 4-wheel drive recreational vehicles offered at the time were jeeps. The Scouts became known for their ability to go anywhere and have high durability. They are a key part of automotive history being considered the first SUV.
This scout came to us from Tennessee, where it was repainted and given some new upholstery. With a bench in the cab and 4 seats in the bed, this thing has fun written all over it. The power house is a 4 cylinder with a manual transmission. The top comes and the doors come off fairly easily making into a cool convertible. The univocal tires are 30x9.5 mounted on steel wheels. Take it to cabin, down a two track, get ice cream or go to the beach. No matter where it goes you are sure to have fun in this little truck.
