From 1952 through to 1957, Maserati cleaned up on the race track, winning seven World Championships and dominating Formula One, in large part due to lead driver Juan-Manuel Fangio. Emphasis then moved to road cars of the gran turismo class when the 3500 GT was introduced in 1957 at Geneva. The 3500 GT was powered by a 220-brake horsepower, hemi-head, 3,485-cubic centimetre inline six-cylinder, and it was available as either a 2+2 coupé or convertible. The coupé was wrapped in an aluminium superleggera body by Touring of Milan, whilst the convertible body was by Vignale.
The 1960 Maserati 3500 GT Coupe by Touring featured here is
finished in stunning Dark Rosso Red with a beautiful black leather
interior. This low mileage, highly original 3500 GT is one of just
257 examples produced and one of less than 75 examples remaining,
making this Maserati one of the rarest in the world. Further, this
magnificent motorcar was recently released from a large prominent
collection and then underwent a full service by marque specialists
that included a complete fuel system, brake system, and lubrication
system overhaul. Accompanying this investment-grade 3500 is its
Maserati Classiche documentation as well as its owner’s manual.
