As one of the most celebrated automobiles ever produced, this W108 1972 Mercedes-Benz 280 SE 4.5 V-8 has only 43,005 miles of use from new at the time of cataloging. The Consignor has all of the service orders from the other 2 owners of the vehicle, in addition to those received during their ownership. This model was only offered for 2 years before the wheelbase was extended to give rise to the SEL. Finished in the iconic color combination of Phantom Grey w/black leather seats, offset nicely by the wooden dashboard, this classic Mercedes is equipped with air conditioning that has just been refreshed with a rebuilt compressor. The power steering pump has been rebuilt and the water pump is new.
This M-B V-8 is reputed to be bulletproof. This beautiful 4-door cruiser handles very well, as the 1994 Road and Track article on the model stated.
