1934 Ford Cabriolet
In The Beginning.....
There was Ford. Then came the V8 and they begat the HOT ROD !!!
The Good Lord saw that and knew it was way COOL...
This Cabriolet Is only a 34 Ford on the surface. Beneath the
surface lurks the imagination , hard work and parts that every poor
Hot Rodder that grew up in the fifties and sixties could muster..
Cool in 1959 was a 34 Ford Cabriolet with a 48 Merc motor...
Because it was a faster motor than the original "underpowered" flat
head that came in the car in 1934... Even Cooler yet in 1959 were a
set of Offenhauser Heads on that same souped up 48 merc motor..
Extreme cool would be a vintage Edmunds two deuce hi-rise topped
with two perfectly matched Strombergs.. Cool in 1960 was a 39 ford
tranny in a 34 Ford.... Because the 39 had Synchro's and you didn't
have to double clutch anything but your girlfriend.. Cool in 1960
was a juice brake conversion rather than the original mechanicals
because not only did you want to go faster, but stopping when you
wanted to was very cool... Cool at anytime was a rumble seat that
you and your best buddie could take your best girls with you on a
double date.. Cool is 100 % Henry Ford steel... This car reeks of
Old School Cool from the red white and blue ,to the wide whites and
the leather upholstery even the sixties three spoke steering wheel.
Hell even the side pipes are sixties cool.. I am sixty five and
when I think of old school cool I bring to mind cool like...Paul
Newman, John Wayne, Marlon Brando, Steve Mcqueen, James Garner, and
of course 32,33,and 34 Fords... For Me these are the very Icons of
Old School Cool !!!!
