Vehicle Description
I have learned a tremendous lesson from this car....
Never assume that the cars in the 50's were primitive even though
in many ways they were... the technology was primitive but the
idea's were solid...... This Hudson was so far ahead of its time it
is silly... and it might have been ugly to some but it was an
engineering feat for its time just jam packed with great
innovations and advancements.... This is the car that lead the rest
of the cars in the 50's to "lower the center of gravity " for
increased stability and ease of access.... It was known as the step
down design..... HEY HEY HEY... It worked!!!. This car was so
stable at speed it dominated NASCAR for three years.!!! It won 40
out of 48 races in the 1952 AAA racing season alone!!!! This car
also utilized a Unibody type construction that was not copied for
decades .... Now every car we see is Unibody construction.......
HEY HEY HEY !!!! it worked !!!!!
This car used a 5.0 litre straight six cylinder, flat head that
produced a whopping 145 horsepower... but this motor could be
easily tuned to well over 200 horsepower.... This car was equipped
with a low cost dual carburetor system that improved performance
and reliability called the TWIN-H-POWER........
JAY LENO LISTS THE 1951-1954 HUDSON HORNET HOLLYWOOD COUPE AS ONE
THE TOP TEN MOST COLLECTIBLE AMERICAN CARS OF THE POST WAR
ERA....Several of the well restored Club Coupe versions have sold
for upwards of 75 thousand dollars and one convertible version of
this car recently sold for 150,000 in 2013...... This car is a
beautiful survivor ...
It runs well and is a serious head turner, the interior is
tremendous and as far as I can tell is 100 % original except for
the carpet ....With only 2160 Hollywood coupes made , one has to
wonder how many of these great cars are still in existence
........... Priced conservatively.....
