LA CARRERA PANAMERICANA ???
FOR THOSE OF YOU THAT HAVE NO IDEA WHAT THAT IS .....HERE'S WHAT IT IS, TWO THOUSAND MILES OF THE MOST HARD HITTING ,WHEEL RUBBING ,BOUNCING IN AND OUT OF DITCHES AND POTHOLES RACING THAT ONE COULD EVER IMAGINE ..... THE POLICE BECOME YOUR ACCOMPLICES AS YOU SLICE YOUR WAY ACROSS MEXICO ON CITY STREETS BACKWOODS ROADS AND THE MEXICAN HIGHWAYS ALL THE WHILE RUNNING FLAT OUT AS FAST AS YOU CAN GO.........
THE RACE WAS RUN BETWEEN 1950 AND 1954 THEN CANCELLED DUE TO THE MANY DEATHS (27) ATTRIBUTED TO THAT RACE .... THEN A GROUP OF ENTHUSIASTS WOKE UP IN THE LATE 80'S AND REVIVED THIS GRUELING RACE... IT RUNS TO THIS DAY ....
OF COURSE NOBODY WANTS TO RACE AND JUST FINISH.... THE DESIRE TO WIN IS ALL THAT MATTERS ...... YOU NOT ONLY HAVE TO KNOW HOW TO DRIVE ....YOU MUST HAVE THE RIGHT CAR.....
STUDEBAKER HAS A VERY SPECIAL PLACE IN PANAMERICANA HISTORY , IT IS ALMOST AS IF THE STUDEBAKER AND ITS ADVANCED LOW SLUNG STANCE WAS DESTINED TO BE THE CHAMPION AT THIS RACE OF ALL ROAD RACES ..... STUDEBAKER CROSSED THE FINISH LINE FIRST... AND WON THE CARRERA FOUR OF THE LAST SIX RACES,WHILE ALSO CLAIMING TWO 2NDS AND A 3RD PLACE WIN...... IF THAT IS NOT ENOUGH TO CONVINCE YOU THAT THIS CAR IS DESTINED TO RACE , STUDEBAKER HAS WON THAT RACE 19 TIMES SINCE REVIVED IN 1988.... NOW ONE THING THAT NEARLY ALL OF THOSE STOODIES HAVE IN COMMON IS THAT THEY ALMOST ALWAYS RAN CHEVROLET SMALL BLOCKS... GOOD IDEA!!!!! IT WORKED AND THIS 54 CHAMPION HAS THAT ALREADY!!! EQUIPPED WITH A GREAT 350 AND A 700R4 TRANS ...... NOW I AM NOT TELLING YOU TO GO RACE THE PANAMERICANA...BUT I AM TELLING YOU THAT THIS VINTAGE HOT ROD HAS ONE HELL OF A START AND YOU CAN FINISH IT ,OR DRIVE IT LIKE IT IS OR WE WILL BUILD THIS CAR JUST THE WAY YOU ENVISION IT WITH YOUR IDEAS AND YOUR REQUIREMENTS...... YOU HAVE TOTAL CONTROL.............. PRICED AS IS ..........
