Classic Cars can help. We are pleased to present this 1956 Mercury
Monterey Two-door Hardtop that has a very handsome period correct
Hot Rod taste applied to it and is a very sought after authentic
style that just seems to be disappearing in recent times. We are
pleased to offer this well preserved hot rod 50's Mercury that the
next owner will surely appreciate it's style! Built on April 5,
1956 in Ford's Metuchen, New Jersey factory, Its current two-tone
silver over dark cherry exterior is in excellent condition, as is
the vehicle's trim. Car features custom pinstriping, a rear
Continental spare tire kit, rear wheels skirts, Frenched radio
antenna and Lake triple side exit exhaust pipes. The glass panels
are in all good form. Most of the vehicle's lights are in good
shape. All of the body panels are straight, the engine bay is tidy
with a lot of chrome and the battery appears new. The car features
a center high-mounted stoplight (CHMSL) and the bumpers are in
fantastic condition as well. Under the hood is Ford's 312 CID V-8
engine, featuring lots of chrome, power brakes, louvered valve
heads and dual exhausts. Car has pleated padding around the engine
bay and, as an ode to 50s movie icon, James Dean, there's a unique
mural painted on the hood's underside by Ackley in 1988. Neon can
illuminate the engine bay and vehicle underbody at the driver's
desire. Inside, the car features a rolled and pleated silver and
black interior. The silver bench seats are in excellent shape while
the black carpeting is in very good order. The white headliner is
well kept, as is the sparkling instrument panel with its generous
helping of chrome. Even the steering wheel rim cover matches the
seat color. The condition of the door skins, mirrors and shift
lever all reflect the rest of the interior. Rounding out the inside
is a factory AM radio, fire extinguisher and, with a deft touch of
whimsy, door lock plungers topped with tiny, black 8 billiard
balls. Competition to this car in 1956 included Buick's Series 40
Special Riviera Coupe, DeSoto's Firedome Seville two-door, Hudson's
Hornet Hardtop, Oldsmobile's Holiday 88 Coupe and Nash's Ambassador
Country Club. This car is currently located at our facility in St.
Louis, Missouri. Current mileage on the odometer shows 63,114
miles. It is sold as is, where is, on a clean and clear, mileage
exempt title. GET OUT AND DRIVE!!! VIN: 56ME64722M Note: Please see
