1956 Chevy 3100 carryall / suburban Napco 4x4 - I purchased this amazing carryall restored and stock 2wd in 2013. I had it shipped to Arizona to one of the country's top Napco experts for its new life as a Napco 4x4. Factory 4x4 vehicles did not really start until sometime in 1957-58, so if you wanted your pre-1957 rig converted you could order your conversion kit from Napco and install it yourself. (see www.napco.org for more history and very cool stuff). My friend in Arizona had all the correct 1956 Napco rebuilt parts ready to go and did an awesome job, including removing the original automatic trans, which was replaced with correct 1956, 4 speed manual transmission, Spicer transfer case and Selectro heavy duty lock out hubs. Basically, a frame down rebuild including new drive shafts, leaf springs, shocks, stainless steel gas tank and much more. This is not a trailer queen, and does very well in shows also it is 7' 1" tall so needs a large garage door to store inside. I drive it at least three time a month, Starts every time, Drives as it should for a 1956 with stock inline six Thriftmaster 235 engine, standard steering, drum brakes and manual trans. Everything is in working order except for original radio which is still in the vehicle. Also the last pictures are pre-resto.. Thanks for looking!!
