For sale at Gateway Classic Cars in our St. Louis showroom is a 1973 Chevrolet Nova. This Nova was restored to appear as a Yenko Nova. Yenko was well known for his tuning of Chevrolet's Camaro, Chevelle, Nova and Corvairs. This '73 Nova is painted Graphite Gray with white Yenko decals and looks truly menacing with the American Racing wheels wrapped in 275/75R15 in the rear and 215/65R15 up front. The stance is muscle car era appropriate and so is the sound. Power comes from a 350 bored .040 over that has been Magnafluxed, honed and includes polished and balanced rods, high flow oil pump, Summit Hyper Pistons with 9.6:1 compression ratio with Dart heads with oversized valves and 64cc combustion chambers, CompCams roller rockers, CompCams pushrods, Double Roller timing chain, Holley intake manifold with a Holley Street Avenger carburetor measuring 670 cfm, a Weiand chrome water pump and a Mallory HEI ignition plus a high output starter bring this engine to life. Keeping this high performance engine cool is thanks to a 3 row aluminum radiator, Flex lite fan and Weiand water pump. The transmission is a TH-350 that has been professionally built and includes a B&M shift kit, B&M torque converter with a 2,400 RPM stall, B&M flex plate and rebuild kit, polished aluminum pan and transmission cooler. The rear end consist of a 10 bolt housing 3.08 gears allowing you to hit the highway and turn high RPM. When considering the rear gears and the 20 gallon foam filled fuel cell mounted in the trunk, you can also pass up a few gas stations. Energy suspension bushings are used for the body mounts, leaf spring mounts, transmission mount and control arms. Power steering and power brakes certainly aid in a easy and confidence inspiring drive. These are a great upgrade and really give the car a more modern feel. Also aiding to the great ride are new front and rear springs, shocks front and rear, ball joints and tie rods and Competition Engineering traction bars to help put the power down to the ground.
